Tadipatri

Tadipatri – heard of this name? It is a small town in Ananthapur district of Andhra Pradesh in southern part of India. This, not so popular town, has two temples - Bugga Ramalingeswara Swami temple and Chintala Tiruvengalanatha Swami temple.
The first one is for Shiva and the later is for Vishnu. These two temples have some outstanding sculptures! Both these temples are more than 500 years old.

Surprisingly these two temples are not known to many people! In fact one auto guy who has been driving in Tadipatri for more than 10 years is not aware of these temples! I just could not believe this!

But I managed to visit both these temples which are right in the centre of the town! I have posted some pictures of sculptures found in these temples. If someone is interested in south Indian sculptures - this is a a must see destination!
